Privacy and disclaimer
In the context of the General Data Protection Regulation (AGV), or European privacy law, I am hereby pleased to let you know about your privacy on my website and how I personally handle e-mail marketing and advertising.
Domains
Since 2009, www.nathalie-kriek.nl has been my domain. Previously, I mainly offered tarot consultations and courses here. Since 2013, the domain has served as a website on which I offer various services as a copywriter. In 2019, my website has been supplemented with a number of blogs in the categories spiritual, astrology, tarot, paranormal and personal.
Since 2014, my company Open Card Productions has been registered with the Chamber of Commerce. However, as the domain www.nathalie-kriek.nl had already built up some internet value, I kept this domain. However, I did also maintain the domains www.nathaliekriek.nl and www.openkaartproducties.nl and have it redirected to www.nathalie-kriek.nl.
Copyright
All content on this website has been written by myself. It is therefore not allowed to take over, copy or publish my texts in any way by means of digital distribution, printing, photocopying, microfilm, electrical and/or magnetic storage or in any other way, without my prior written consent.
The images I use on my pages and in my blogs come from the royalty-free image site Pixabay, unless otherwise stated.
Your privacy as a visitor to my website
To get a good impression of how my website is evolving, my website is connected to Google Analytics. Google Analytics tracks:
- how many unique visitors my website had in a given period
- how many repeat visitors my website had in a given period
- how many page views my website had in a given period
- which social media platforms my visitors come from
- how many pages the average reader clicks on during their visit
- how long an average visit to my website takes
- how many visitors are currently present on my website and which pages they click on
- where my visitors come from
- via which pages my visitors enter and leave my website
Google does this for the purpose of providing me with insight into various analytics with the intention that I can continue to improve my website based on this. The data of my visitors is not used for any purpose other than analysing traffic and behaviour on my website.
The web hosting company Nowweb, where my website is hosted, has set up Google Analytics so that only anonymous data are collected.
When people visit my website for the first time, a cookie notification is displayed informing them about the use of functional and analytical cookies. This means that IP addresses are anonymised and my website thus complies with the AVG guidelines.
Although Nowweb has not authorised Google to share personal data collected through my website with third parties, neither Nowweb nor I have any influence on what happens to this data when Google is legally required to hand over personal data or on how any third parties process the information on Google's behalf.
Comments
To avoid hassles in the form of quarrelling commenters and possible spammers, I have disabled the comment space under my blogs. Since it is not possible to leave a comment here, it is also not possible for me to collect personal data or IP addresses of my visitors via this way.
However, you will find a contact form on my website. If you contact me through this page, I will receive your name, e-mail address and telephone number via e-mail. The data from the forms on my website are stored in WordPress. Nowweb has configured WordPress in such a way that no data is shared with the (creators of) WordPress, not even anonymously.
If you contact me by phone or send me a message via WhatsApp, I will receive your phone number and probably your name through this channel. These, too, are personal data. Of course, I need these to be able to contact you or communicate with you if required. I will never misuse this data or share it with third parties unsolicited.
Safety
Personal data processed through my website are properly secured. My website therefore has an SSL certificate. You will recognise this by the 's' in https:// for my domain name or the icon of a lock. Also, there is a good security tool installed. WordPress and all plug-ins I use are kept up-to-date by Nowweb at all times.
This keeps hackers out as much as possible.
Of course, neither Nowweb nor I can guarantee that my website will never be hacked. However, we can assure you that everything is being done to prevent it.
Your privacy as my client
Of course, I have to keep records for my accountant who processes my records for the purpose of my tax return.

Share articles on social media
At the top of each page or blog, you will see five icons: Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, email and Linked-in. If you find one of my posts worth sharing (which of course I greatly appreciate), I can see in Google Analytics which platform a post from my website was shared with, but not by whom or on which account.
However, when you share something from my website via your social network, cookies are placed via this action. Neither Nowweb nor I have any influence on this. In the following privacy statements of the relevant social media platforms, you can read what they do with your personal data that they obtain through these cookies.
Links to other websites
The blogs I write aim to provide as much relevant information as possible, so that you can actually find what you are looking for. I regularly link to other websites whose information I find valuable. Sometimes others have described things so well that I have little to add and am happy to link to the website in question.
Nevertheless, I am neither responsible nor liable for the information, products or services offered thereon, nor for the privacy policies applied there.
Affiliation links
Since I write informative blogs, I regularly provide them with links to, for example, functional books or products that fit the topic of my blog.
Since writing a blog takes up quite a bit of my time but this is my own choice and I do not want to ask for donations from my readers/visitors for this, I have decided to become an affiliate partner of BOL.com. So several articles I have written contain affiliate links, in the hope that over time I will still be able to collect some income from my blog.
When you click on an affiliate link and actually order something on BOL.com, I get a small percentage as thanks for promoting their products. This of course costs you absolutely nothing, this concerns an agreement between me and the respective affiliate companies which you are completely unaffected by financially.
However, when you place an order, these companies will receive personal data from you. They need it to process and ship your order.
BOL processes data that fall under personal data under the current privacy law, such as search, surf, and purchase behaviour and IP addresses. They retrieve this data (in part) from my website only to verify whether you have ordered something through my website so that they can determine whether I am entitled to compensation for this.
BOL.com is the data controller within the meaning of privacy legislation.
Because BOL collects and processes this data independently and only sets cookies To establish my commission, there is no processor agreement between me and BOL .
However, I do want to stress that I only share affiliate links of products that I actually stand behind or that I myself use or own to my complete satisfaction.
Advertorials
I am open to writing advertorials. An advertorial is an advertisement in the form of an article, or in other words: a sponsored blog post. When it is an advertorial, it is indicated by a text image in the relevant article.
However, I do want to stress that I only write advertorials on products I actually stand behind or own to my complete satisfaction.
