The importance of eating regularly if you want to lose weight. Tip of the week 27

What is the importance of eating regularly if you want to lose weight? When you make sure you keep eating regularly, your metabolism stays on track. Your body takes about two to two and a half hours to digest a meal.
So if you eat something (small) every two and a half to three hours, you will never feel hungry! In addition, with a regular eating pattern your maintain blood sugar levels.
People who do skip meals often say they 'didn't have time that day'. That is no excuse.
Every employer offers plenty of time for lunch and it is your own choice to get up late in the morning to leave no time for breakfast because you have to rush to work.
Besides, how much time does it take to have a responsible snack? If necessary, have a banana or a bottle of tomato juice. You can have that while you work, too!
Slimming down: the importance of eating regularly
By eating regularly:
- speeds up metabolism
- promotes muscle growth
- get more energy
- you do not suffer from peaks and troughs in blood sugar levels, (fatigue, feeling dull, and 'cravings')
- reduces fat storage
- don't bother binge eating
Eating regularly also promotes muscle growth. Every time you eat something, blood sugar levels rise and the pancreas produces insulin to stabilise blood sugar levels again.
Insulin transports the proteins you ingest through the bloodstream to muscle cells.
If you eat regularly and also eat or drink something containing protein every two to three hours, amino acids will be transported to muscles all day and your body will not think of breaking down these muscles again to meet energy needs.
After all, you now provide your own supply of energy in the form of regular meals throughout the day.
More muscle mass also burns more calories at rest because more muscles (even at rest) require more energy.
In doing so, do you also regularly eat the good carbs You will also have more energy and be able and willing to move more which not only improves your fitness but also aids digestion - and slimming!
So the importance of eating regularly if you want to lose weight is greater than you might have thought.
